Steve Vai to Tour US This Fall

Guitar God Steve Vai who has played with legends like David Lee Roth and Whitesnake as well as having a very successful solo career has posted new tour dates to his website. Vai will be touring the United States from August through October. He also has new music, "The Story of Light" set to be released on August 14.

Label debut “Black Tie Love Affair” out July 17^th

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Midwest rock band on the verge, 3 Pill Morning, has announced several summer tour-dates in support of Georgia rock veteran, Sevendust. 3 Pill Morning will join Sevendust in July as the band gears up for the release of its label debut, Black Tie Love Affair, on July 17^th (A2Z/Page 2 Music/eOne). A list of all confirmed dates can be seen below.

3 Pill Morning is currently embarked on a U.S. tour alongside Smile Empty Soul, with the first single from Black Tie Love Affair, “Rain,” set to impact radio in the coming weeks. Black Tie Love Affair will look to build on the success of the band’s 2011 independent release, Take Control, which broke into the national spotlight behind the hit single, “Loser,” a mainstay on the Active Rock Top 100 chart for over five months.

“From our perspective, Black Tie Love Affair is the album that will put 3 Pill Morning on the map to stay,” said vocalist, Jeff Stebbins. “We’ve been a band for a long time and our expectations for this release are light years beyond what we’ve pushed for
before. Our plans are simple, tour, tour, tour, and always be writing and pushing to beat anything we’ve done before.”

Jackyl playing free show June 9

Jackyl will be playing a free show for Brandt's Harley Davidson in Wabash, Indiana on June 9. Other bands on the bill are the Nigel Dupree Band and Reverend Boogieman. The concert starts at noon. Sounds like a great time to me!! Jackyl is awesome any time but bikes and bands are a winning combination!

David Lee Roth: Tour Dates Postponed because of "Exhaustion"

Rumors have been flying since Van Halen announced that they were postponing a bunch of tour dates that it was because of infighting. David Lee Roth has posted a video saying that everyone's getting along fine, it's just that they're "exhausted." Not sure if they're just tired or tired of putting up with each other's bullshit.


And if anyone was wondering what Sammy Hagar thought of all this, he's not surprised.

"They're hard people to get along with, those brothers...Otherwise I'd still be in the band.I'm surprised it took this long for the tour to experience major difficulties, he added. "I predicted this was going to happen a lot sooner. I lost money on that bet!"

Van Halen postpones tour dates

Van Halen have postponed 31 dates on their 2012 North American tour. The postponed shows were to run from July 7 in Uncasville, CT through Sept. 25 in Milwaukee, WI.
No official reason has been given for the postponements, and there’s no word yet on when the rescheduled dates will be announced.

My take is that this kind of sucks. Internet rumors are abound that it's because of all the fighting and the band hates each other. I can't find anything from a credible source so I guess all we have right now is the shows won't go on. (at least for the time being)

Scott Weiland back in Velvet Revolver -- I think

So I'm not really sure what's going on with Velvet Revolver (aka the cool members of Guns N Roses with Scott Weiland). The Internet is abuzz with the news that the former singer Scott Weiland is back with the band....however Slash denied it. Granted, Slash seems to be busy with his project with Myles Kennedy, so who knows if Velver Revolver is even going to do anything with Scott Weiland in the band or not. For all I know, Slash is no longer with Velvet Revolver. (ok, I just made that up, don't take it seriously!!)

In any case, I suppose this is just yet another episode of the soap opera that is the music business. Stay tuned to see what exciting band drama occurs tomorrow.
